As part of the series of pre-events for the Second International Festival of Iran's Educational Attractions, the University of Science and Culture hosted a webinar titled "Challenges in Attracting International Students to Non-Profit Universities" on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. The event featured a lecture by Dr. Ali Akbar Goldasteh, a faculty member in the Department of Educational Sciences at the University of Science and Culture, and was attended by faculty members from universities across Iran.
The webinar began with an overview of the current global landscape for international students. This was followed by discussions on the role of non-profit universities in attracting international students, the objectives outlined in Iran's Seventh Development Plan (2023-2027), and the broader challenges of international student recruitment in Iran, including issues related to infrastructure, ecosystem, and perceptions.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, where practical solutions for improving international student recruitment at non-profit universities were proposed.
